I got into the semi-finals of the MaMa contest! So excited! I thought to celebrate, it would be a cool idea to show the underpainting for the piece. A few people asked me last week about my process and I posted that Andrew Bird tutorial. So first, I do a light painting in black watercolor over a pencil sketch. Then I ink in the details with a brush and pen. And from this point it's scanned in PS and colored digitally.
*Just noticed this, if you go into my gallery and click to view this, then click the right arrow on your keyboard, you can flip to and from the finished color version. Very cool to quickly see the before and after*
