I haven’t seen many artists interpret the Mockingjay as an actually species of bird, they usually present it more as an iconic symbol in The Hunger Games. I tried to reinterpret the original design by including some of the well known elements, but took it a bit further making it more like a natural study. I borrowed some of the color and beak features of a mockingbird and was inspired by the Stellar Jay for the rest.
